Sitting in on this episode are Jurgen and Martin Pansy, brothers who founded smart lock company Nuki. Based in the EU, Nuki is now finally launching in the U.S., and they join to talk about creating their tiny, retrofit smart lock.

Kicking things off with the news, Signify has expanded its Hue lineup once again. We saw the debut of its third-generation smart button and the Hue Play Wall Washer.

The Play Wall Washer is a curved aluminum body that rises up about six inches from your table top or mantle. It casts over 1000 lumens of indirect light onto your wall, which can add to the ambiance or sync with your TV.

Sonos has updated its Ace headphones yet again, adding new features when used in combination with its soundbars. Two pairs of Ace headphones can be synced at the same time, allowing two people to listen to their TV in spatial audio.

Blue has introduced a new air purifier. The new Blue Air Signature is designed to look at home in your living room with a hidden display, optional wooden legs, and the top can even act as an end table.

Finally, Aqara has released a new smart lock in the EU. The U200 Lite is a retrofit lock that works with Apple Home via Matter and Thread.

The rest of the episode was spent talking to Jurgen and Martin about Nuki, from how the company started to what separates the new model apart.

We also talked about common issues with smart home devices such as battery life, connectivity, and sound. It's especially interesting as the smart lock market continues to get more diversified.
