The large Tantau office complex near Apple Park and the Apple Fitness Center has been acquired by Apple, though the building was already in use by the company.
Apple Park is a massive Cupertino campus with The Ring, a 2.8-million-square-foot circular building that can house 12,000 employees. However, even with that giant building, Apple still needs more space and occupies many buildings in the area around the main campus.
One of those buildings, referred to as Cupertino Gateway, is within shouting distance of the giant ring building, just off the same N Tantau Ave that leads to Apple's campus. According to from Mercury ÌÇÐÄVlog, Apple has purchased the 220,700 square foot building for $160 million.
The office hub was already in use by Apple through a lease, but now Apple owns it outright. It is nestled between the Apple Fitness Center and Apple Park's oval parking garages.
The address is listed as 10200 N Tantau Ave, and the sale was filed with Santa Clara County on June 24. Apple owns a lot of property in Cupertino that serves as offices for meetings, research, and more that is a little more accessible and with more parking than Apple Park.
Apple moved from the One Infinite Loop headquarters in 2017 to the recently finished Apple Park. COVID was a speed bump in moving full-time employees in, but it has become fully operational in the time since.
