After a critically acclaimed third season, and a writer's strike interrupting pre-production, "The Morning Show" returns to Apple TV+ to dive even deeper into the cutthroat world of broadcast news.
The 10-episode fourth season will premiere on September 15. New episodes will be released weekly until November 19.
This season starts with a time jump, Apple, with events taking place two years after the events of season three.
Both Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon return to reprise their roles as Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson. The ensemble cast is rounded out by Billy Crudup, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie, Nestor Carbonell, Mark Duplass, Greta Lee, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, Boyd Holbrook, and returning fan-favorite Jon Hamm.
Season three earned Apple TV+ 16 Emmy nominations and an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series win for Crudup for his performance of Cory Ellison. Crudup also won a Critics Choice Award for his season three portrayal.
Apple renewed the series for a fourth season in May 2023 — just before the third-season premiered. The fourth season has been in production since at least early 2024.
The Morning Show is inspired by the book "Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV" by Brian Stelter. The program explores the personalities and customs of a network's morning news broadcast.

This is one of my favorite shows. It makes me feel really good about my production career choices outside live TV. It’s such a guilty pleasure and I adore the characters you love to hate. Outstanding production quality and stories.
Wonderful show - previously covered some thorny and challenging subjects of the day that face legacy news media. I wonder if it'll cover the MAGA / Musk / Orange clown car of an administration and the apparent legacy news rollover / fear of litigation?
I believe the first episode premieres on September 17th.
Oh great, another season of left-wing propaganda disguised as a tv show. Couldn't stand to finish season 3, I want to be entertained, not consistently feel berated because my views don't match those of the producers/writers.
Sorry above commenters, but this is flogging the proverbial horse to death. Americans are really bad at this. It happens all the time. A good show keeps going and going until it dies a sad, unloved death. It’s lazy. See also Disney with Marvel, Star Wars. A travesty.
Better to put the effort, money and resources into new ideas. Given the quality of Apple movies lately (eg fountain of youth, the gorge), that might be a very, very good idea.
Why not take a leaf out of the k-drama format? A set, standard number of episodes, a complete story arc, and that’s it. Then producers go off and do a completely new story. Just like a book, in fact why not base it on a great book? In the Korean context, they often base a story on a successful webtoon. And multi book stories could be multiseries. The Koreans do 16 episodes as a rule, but also occasionally do 8,12 or 22. Maybe Apple could do a standard 8-12.
