App Store, Apple Music, iTunes & other services hit by ongoing network issues [u]

Last updated

A host of public- and developer-facing Apple online services — including flagships like the App Store, the iTunes Store, Apple Music, and the Mac App Store — were encountering unspecified difficulties, according to the company's system status trackers.

In all cases, problems are said to have begun midday U.S. time on Thursday. The affected are experiencing "intermittent" issues — aside from the ones mentioned above, othes impacted include Apple TV, iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes U, and the Volume Purchase Program.

On the developer side, Apple is with in-app purchases and the iTunes Sandbox. The latter lets developers test apps and their purchases without running real transactions.

Update: After about three hours of spotty issues affecting only a small percentage of users, Apple reports that the situation has been resolved.

While outages are not uncommon with Apple online services, most are on a smaller scale and/or fixed within a matter of hours.

Please don't start with the usual comments about taking their time for new emojis and not for online services...

If they weren't focusing on stupid things like emoji's they could probably keep their servers up. If Steve were here this wouldn't have happened.
