Cook, Ahrendts & other Apple execs tour New York City ahead of iPhone 7 rollout

Last updated

Several Apple executives, including CEO Tim Cook, are touring New York City this week, visiting a variety of locations ahead of this Friday's iPhone 7 launch. [Updated with correction]

On Monday Cook of the Wall Street Journal, the paper's Miriam Gottfried said on Twitter. It's unclear whether or not he was there for an interview, but the CEO reportedly quipped "you guys should have Macintoshes" after seeing the large number of PCs at the publication.

Earlier on Tuesday, Cook was joined by senior VP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue and Greg Joswiak — VP of iOS, iPad, and iPhone marketing — at a public school where the teachers are using iPads. At some point the three met up with retail head Angela Ahrendts at the new World Trade Center Apple store.

It's unknown whether any of the executives plan to make an appearance during the iPhone 7 launch itself, but Cook has regularly dropped by stores during past introductions.

Update: Ahrendts appeared at PS 161 as well.

This article has some problems. It says that Cook, Cue, and Joswiak were at the school and that they met up with Ahrendts later. She is in the photo in the back left right in front of that green umbrella. So she was at the school too and the four probably went to the store together.

It was not a good look day for her so forgive the author for getting it wrong.  As political as she is, i couldn't imagine her missing a photo opp that included Cook.
