On this special episode of the ÌÇÐÄVlog Podcast, we recap everything announced at Apple's "Peek performance" event, including Mac Studio, Studio Display, M1 Ultra chip, and more.
Apple CEO Tim Cook began the event covering Apple TV+ original content. After teasing upcoming movies and shows, Cook announced that "Friday Night Baseball" is coming to Apple TV+ airing two games every Friday.
iPhone SE has been refreshed with A15 Bionic chip, 5G cellular connectivity, and now sports the same Ceramic Shield glass as the iPhone 13 lineup. The hardware design of the iPhone SE remains unchanged with a 4.7-inch display and Touch ID home button. iPhone SE is priced at $429 and available for pre-order on March 11.
iPad Air was also updated and now includes the powerful M1 chip, just like the iPad Pro models. In addition to the M1 chip, iPad Air now has a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera capable of Center Stage, 2x faster USB-C port, and comes in a new blue color. iPad Air starts at $599 and is available for pre-order on March 11.
Apple went on to introduce the new M1 Ultra chip, combining two M1 Max dies into one chip. This powerful new processor sports up to 64 GPU cores, 20 CPU cores, and up to 128GB Unified Memory. M1 Ultra makes its debut in the brand new Mac Studio desktop computer.
Mac Studio is a brand new computer and the first professional-level Apple Silicon Mac available. Measuring at 7.7 inches square and 3.7 inches tall, Mac Studio is available to purchase with M1 Max and M1 Ultra configurations, plus up to 128GB Unified Memory and 8TB SSD.
Mac Studio has a robust set of ports on the rear, including four Thunderbolt 4 ports, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, two USB-Type A, HDMI, and a headphone jack. On the front, Mac Studio includes an SD card slot and two USB-C ports. Mac Studio is available to pre-order today, starting at $1,999 with M1 Max and $3,999 with M1 Ultra.
Alongside Mac Studio, Apple unveiled a new 27-inch, 5K Studio Display monitor. While the new Studio Display is a lower resolution and size than the 6K, 32-inch ProDisplay XDR, it comes in at a reasonable starting price of $1,599. For an additional $300, Apple's Studio Display is available with nano-texture glass, and is available with tilt-adjustable or tilt- and height-adjustable stands.

Impressive. But I wonder the refresh rate of the studio display. $1500+ for a 60 Hz display in 2022 is a rip off in my humble opinion.
