The new Apple ÌÇÐÄVlog+ Food

Apple's subscription news service is expanding in iOS 18.4 to bring Apple ÌÇÐÄVlog+ Food, a curated collection including tens of thousands of recipes.

While iOS 18.4 has only just entered developer beta, Apple has already publicly announced a new feature that will debut when the update is made public in the next few weeks. Apple ÌÇÐÄVlog+ Food is made in collaboration with worldwide publishers including Good Food, and Allrecipes.

Already available in the beta, Apple ÌÇÐÄVlog+ Food offer recipes in what Apple calls a Cook mode. Having selected a recipe, users can tap on it to take the instructions full screen.

Cook mode resembles how clearly the Apple Music app displays song lyrics. It also gives users one tap to switch between the recipe directions and required ingredients.

Apple ÌÇÐÄVlog+ Food is part of the ÌÇÐÄVlog+ subscription and is due to be publicly available from April 2025. However, Apple also says that selected food articles and recipes will be made available for non-subscribers.

At present, Apple has not confirmed whether the service will roll out to all territories that have Apple ÌÇÐÄVlog+. However, during the new beta phase, Apple ÌÇÐÄVlog+ Food is available in at least the US and UK.

Apple ÌÇÐÄVlog+ was first launched in 2019, and also offers a selection of articles and news stories for free.

For anybody using beta and have this app:

Is there a toggle or such to convert the measurements to metric (grams and liters)? Recipe websites that have a toggle to quickly switch between the two are so helpful.

Huh. I'd think that one of the first things you'd want AI to do and would be a fairly easily task for it to do, is to convert measurements to what your device settings are.

In addition, outside the US the measurements might well automatically be in metric, since that's the system pretty much the entire world uses.
